Our mission

At MUTE HATE, our mission is to promote fair play and respect, making sport safer, more ethical, and accessible to all. This vision can be realized by countering discrimination and hate speech.

Sporting events, including football matches, still too often become platforms for racism, homophobia, sexism, and other forms of hate speech. Sometimes, these incidents escalate into physical violence among supporters, disrupting the events themselves. The risk of such incidents forces some organizers to limit or deny access to supporters. Every instance of hate speech is unacceptable and must be prevented and addressed.

Sport has to change mindsets. We are convinced that sport should be first and foremost an instrument to promote and share values such as fair play, mutual respect and tolerance. In sport, there should be no place for violence,  manipulation, abuse and hate.

BUILD THE COMMUNITY

We believe that everyone has a role to play in combating hate speech. Whether you are an individual looking to learn more, a community leader seeking resources, or an organization wanting to collaborate, there are many ways to get involved with MUTE HATE. Together, we can make a difference.
